About Counselling
What is counselling?
Counselling is your space to talk openly, be heard, and feel supported without judgment. It’s a chance to explore your feelings, experiences, and hopes in a safe environment.
Who do you work with?
I offer counselling for adults, children, and young people. Each session is shaped around your unique needs, so you feel understood and supported in ways that make sense for you.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
You don’t need to have everything figured out. If you’re curious about whether counselling could help, we can explore it together at your pace.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can self‑refer directly, and there are no waiting lists. Support is available when you need it.
Sessions and Support
How long is a session?
Most sessions last around 50 minutes, but we’ll agree what feels right for you.
Do you offer phone or text support?
Yes. If you prefer, we can connect by phone or text within an agreed time slot, giving you flexibility while knowing your time is held with care.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you share in counselling is kept private. At the start, I’ll explain the limits to confidentiality in clear, simple terms, so you feel safe, reassured, and confident about what you choose to share.
Practicalities
How much does counselling cost?
Fees are always agreed with you before booking – there are no surprises.
Can I book just one session?
Yes. You can choose a single session or ongoing support, depending on what feels right for your life.
How do I pay?
Payment options are simple and explained clearly when you book.
Accessibility and Approach
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. You can meet me face‑to‑face, online, or outdoors (walk‑and‑talk). The choice is yours.
Is counselling inclusive?
Absolutely. Whoever you are, you’ll be welcomed with warmth, respect, and understanding. My practice is person‑centred and inclusive, supporting people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
Is your space accessible?
Yes. We have downstairs waiting/therapy rooms and an accessible toilet, so you can feel comfortable and at ease when visiting.
Parents Often Ask
How involved will I be in my child’s counselling?
Your role is valued. While sessions are focused on your child or young person, I’ll keep you informed about the process and offer guidance on how you can support them at home.
Will I know what my child talks about in counselling?
Confidentiality is important for building trust. I won’t share the details of what your child says, but I will explain the boundaries clearly and keep you updated on their overall progress and wellbeing.
What if my child doesn’t want to come to counselling?
That’s very common. We can talk together about their worries and find gentle ways to help them feel more comfortable. Counselling is always at their pace.
How do I know counselling will help my child?
Every child and young person is different. Counselling offers a safe space to explore feelings, build resilience, and develop confidence. Many parents notice positive changes in how their child copes and relates to others.
